SESSIONS
Engagement Session
The engagement session is the first time that you get to be in front of the camera. It helps you work out all the nerves and get comfortable for the big day. Not only that but it allows you to have photographs that are all about you. Engagement sessions last about 1-2 hours and can include multiple locations based on time, distance, and accessibility. I encourage you to pick a location that means something to you. The college campus where you first met, the beach that you always go to, your favorite ice cream parlor, or that park where you first proposed. I want to capture your story together and make the experience as personal as possible.
It is a good idea to plan for two outfits each, one that is more casual and one that is a little dressier. Again, since this session is all about you, make sure you are comfortable with what you choose. You should feel great in what you decide to wear. Some suggestions would be skinny jeans, boots, and a great sweater or blazer, a sundress with flats, heels with a black dress, jeans and a polo or button down shirt, a suit and tie, or dress jeans and coat.
Bridal Session
The bridal session is done about 1-2 months before the wedding date. Before the dress goes in for it’s final pressing it is a great time to get some pictures of the bride in her gown. It is nice to coordinate this day with the final make up and hair consultations. The session lasts around one hour and gives us time to get some great photographs of the bride without the stress of the wedding day.
Styled Session
A styled session is a fun session that allows you to be as creative as possible. It is similar to an engagement session; however, more planning is put into it since it is a larger production. This session usually revolves around a theme such as a movie or vintage film, a classic book, or your favorite activity. A planning meeting is schedule 2-3 weeks before the session to coordinate the theme, attire, props, location, and styling. Each session can last anywhere from 3 hours to 5 hours. Ideas for sessions: carnivals, travel, picnics, berry picking, kids/vintage games.
Day After Session
The day after session is a relaxed session done in wedding attire anytime after the wedding day. There is no stress of the wedding day or worries about ruining the dress since the day is over. This session allows you to get those romantic, creative, and daring photographs that you might not do on your actual wedding day.
