Happy New Years Eve!!!! What are you doing tonight to ring in the new year?

I think I am seeing a pattern develop of military weddings on the blog! Is it a coincidence? Actually, none of them have been directly related to Matt’s time in the Air Force, but every time I get to photograph a military wedding I feel a great connection with the sacrifice both people are making for each other and their country. It is always a humbling reminder for me. I knew Megan and Derek back in high school and got to meet up with them last spring for their beach side engagement session! Remember? Now, after long nights of studying, flying planes, and receiving assignments these two are getting hitched…just days before Derek get’s his wings and they move to San Diego, CA for their official start in the Navy where Derek will fly helicopters.

And what better time to have a wedding than Labor Day weekend!! I was spoiled with a beautiful couple, awesome wedding party, and gorgeous weather in my favorite state! I think it will be easy to see how great this wedding was! So great in fact that I had to split it into TWO posts!! Enjoy this post today! I think it is my favorite! I can’t get enough bride&groom lovin!

I assisted Krista of Never Miss A Moment for A+W’s wedding! Their love began by meeting at a local book store which they soon found to be a favorite spot to spend time together. Along with their love for books and scifi, their love for each other grew! A+W were married on a beautiful summer day in Minnesota surrounded by close family and friends!

Merry Christmas to you!! Today I am cozy and warm with family in Minnesota! Christmas without snow isn’t Christmas to me so I am happy to be home where it really feels like Christmas! I hope that you are enjoying time with close family and friend today. If you are not with your families because you might be serving our country somewhere else far away, I want to wish you an extra special Christmas and thank you from my heart for everything you do!!

In honor of supporting our military during the holidays I wanted to share a publication from last year that was featured on Every Last Detail! I was privileged to help photograph Alyssa and Brandon’s wedding the day after Christmas last year since Brandon’s deployment date was moved up and they had to reschedule their wedding. What an awesome opportunity is was for me to help them have lasting memories of their wedding in the midst of deployment! So enjoy this holiday season whoever you are with!
