I knew that April would go by fast and I am getting anxious and excited for everything that was planned for the month. I almost feel a little exhausted just thinking about it all, but there were so many fun things that I got to do this month.
In April I:
Bought a 35mm camera Broke a dish for the first time from our wedding Made new friends Working in surgery Photographed a wedding in Wisconsin Visited Philly, NYC, and Boston with my sister Saw the Twins play at Yankee Stadium Toured Samuel Adams Brewery and Taza Chocolate Roadtripped to CT with Nancy Mitchell Was inspired and moved to tears at Walk Through a Wedding
Nancy Mitchell - Awe...I made the April blog:) Now let's make it so I can make the May blog(Stop in OHIO on your way back home)! Thanks for the wonderful roadtrip, and taking me to get a yummy burger at Five Guys! I hope to see you soon!
Michelle Hanks - Amy, I so enjoyed watching you last month. I know that I already posted that but I wanted to say thanks again. You seem super super sweet and after both you and Ashley Goodwin talked about film cameras, I got a little interested in rethinking that myself. How is it going with that? I started on a Pentax K-1000 when I was 18 ( more than twice that now) and loved the little center weighted stick in the viewfinder to determine exposure. Not sure if I'm ready to buy a new used 35 mm yet though.
mike - Enjoy the 35mm! Film really makes you slow down...
I am done!! We made it people! 30 days of vlogging!! Here is my big grande finale. It includes all of those fun and familiar songs for you wedding photographers out there! haha! Thank you all for following me and helping me along the way. Be sure to check out all the fun the other vloggers are having at the 30 Vlog Challenge site!
During the workshop this week we all went outside to do a time lapse shot of the outside of the building. I have never done something like this before, however, I have heard of the concept called painting with light and using your flash to do fun lighting techniques. So all the workshop attendees lined up and on Justin’s signal we started popping or lighting the building with our flashes. We were given instructions where to light and to keep moving at all times. I felt like a big goof moving around, trying not to twist an ankle. The purpose was so that we didn’t burn ourselves into the frame, thus we never show up in the shot itself! Justin then showed us how he would light the building if he were alone. I can’t wait to try this sometime! Here is a video Mary shot while we were lighting the building and the final results! Also, check out some more of their awesome night lighting shots here.
